V – THE HOLY GHOST
The
Holy Ghost is the third person in the Trinity, and has a separate identity from
the Father and the Son (Joh 16:13-14, Eph 1:13-14). He
has personal characteristics such as:
- Intelligence (1Co 2:10-12). He grants the spiritual gifts to include, “the word of wisdom” and the “word of knowledge” (1Co 12:8)
- Love (Rom 15:30)
- He is vexed and grieved (Isa 63:10, Eph 4:30)
- He has a will (1Co 12:11)
- He speaks (Act 13:2, Act 21:11, Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 29)
- He testifies (Joh 15:26)
- He teaches (Joh 14:26)
- He intercedes (Rom 8:26-27)
- He guides (Joh 16:13, Act 16:6)
- He commands and ordains (Act 13:2, Act 20:28)
- And He works miracles (Act 8:39, Rom 15:19)
- He is eternal (Heb 9:14)
- Omniscience (Joh 14:26, 1Co 2:10)
- Omnipresence (Psa 139:7)
- Omnipotent (Luk 1:35)
- Holiness (Eph 4:30)
- Foreknowledge (Act 1:16)
- Benevolence (Rom 15:30)
- Creation (Job 33:4, Gen 1:2, Psa 104:30)
- Prophecy (2Sa 23:1-3)
- Intercession (Rom 8:26-27)
- Inspiration of Scripture (2 Pe 1:21, 2Ti 3:16)
- And Agent in Divine guidance (Mar 13:11)
